Grind For Greenaway

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Earlier this month a local – Eric Greenaway had a really bad fall. He was wearing his helmet but it came off his head after the first hit to his head. The second hit to his head fractured his skull almost ear to ear.

He is currently recovering well, but it will take time before things are back to normal. His Family has set up a website with his story and progress here – http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ericgreenaway

On Friday April 11th, The Shelter will be holding a fundraiser for Eric and his family. Half of all admission and all of helmet rentals will go towards helping the Greenaway family with their expenses.

There will be a huge raffle and BBQ (weather permitting)!

Check the flyer in the events section!

A letter from the President

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

The Shelter has been open for over four years to date. We have worked hard to maintain our facility and the features and benefits we offer to our members. We have always felt strong when saying that our members are the foundation to our growth and still believe that to this day. We have a lot of great ideas in the up coming year that we think you will be happy with and excited about.

One of the reasons for this letter is to notify you about our price increase in admission. Unfortunately this is necessary for our stability, but we do hope to off set it with some creative changes to our membership package. Our prices will go from $8 and $12 (member and non-member respectively), to $10 and $14 per session effective 3-1-08.

Additions to our Membership Package
Member’s Only Sessions once a month (instead of quarterly) Members only session is a free session offered to our members with free pizza and huge deals in our shop. We will also be offering those same deals in our Clifton Park location on the days of our members only session for you convenience.
Membership cards that card be presented at either location!
Continued improvements to park and park design.

We have also been encouraging our members to consider one of our new programs,
“The Plus Pass”. This is a pass that gives you all member benefits, covers your admission for the whole year, and also admits you to every single skate camp and rec for the whole year (we do about 8-10 per year). This is a great deal with savings of over $1000 in camps alone not to mention the savings in admission. Over 30 of our previous members have taken advantage of this offer. The cost is currently $749.00. We do accept all credit cards and some financing options are available.

We would like to thank you for your continued support and express our appreciation to you, our members. Please contact Scott with any comments or suggestions.

Thank you,

Scott Johnson, President
