This past weekend Shelter was lucky enough to have a booth @ the Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo and we were even invited to bring our ramps to do some demos!

Thought I’d put up a quick Vid for yall! Tom Penny the man, the legend! when I was 16 Tom Penny Took the skateboard world by storm! this wasn’t his break out video part but my favourite of all his parts.
When this came out when you went to the skate park there would be at least half a dozen kids wearing the “penny” get up!

frank hirata consolidated. Im going to say1996

Question 2. What is the Rapp compound?

hard to explain. But the Rapp compound consists of a plot of land on a river in the mountains. Used to be two run down cabins in a thick adirondack forest. Now 13 years later, its the tightest place you could ever go. diving board, rope swing, floating bar, volleyball, fireworks and bikini contests on the regs

Question 3. You became pretty good at catching turtles what was your technique?

I cant be giving out my techniques that took years to develop. All you need to know is that im better than you at catching turtles.

Pop Switch tricks off the nose man come on. Thats just how its done.

Warm up on the miniramp, then shred the center granite ledge.

When i was a wee seed, my older brother stole a pack of cigarettes from price chopper and got caught. That night at we sat down to dinner. Table set, foot out, everyones glasses full of 2% milk…Next thing you know the whole table got picked up and thrown upside down. That shit went flying! it was like an hour long high school food fight just happened in 2 seconds. I enjoyed it

From the Canucks? umm Rick Rypien or Alex Burrows both are explosive and change the game in an instant
 
Question  7: Number 16, Trevor Linden is considered a great hockey player, but whats something outstanding he’s done off the ice?

He does a lot of charity work but i know he  Switch Heel flipped the 5 stair out the front of GM place circa 96

Question 1. if you could only pick one game system to have for the rest of your life what would it be?
Might be the FC Twin, it plays both the regular Nintendo and Super Nintendo games.

Blades of Steel or original ice hockey on nintendo? what is your winning combo for ice hockey?
The graphics are better for Blades of Steel, but OG ice hockey is way more responsive. When playing, lets go with two medium and a plump guy. Be ready to mash some buttons.

Question 3. would you prefer to have a justache err I mean moustache that changes color with your mood or a mullet that grows 6 inches every day?
The moustache gig sounds pretty cool.

Question 4. What is mightier the sword or the sheath?
Ah, the age old debate. The sword is much sharper .

Question 5 why do toasters have a setting that goes so high it would burn anything you put in it so badly it would be inedible?
Its called “Broil” use it to cook meat, don’t go toasting anything on that setting.

Question 6 when you are running late what part of your routine do you skip?
Surfing the web.

Question 7 Where did you grow up skating and what year?
Pretty much skated right out of the birthing canal, then grew up skating in the great Northeast.

Its just a collection of silly ideas, put into motion. And a perfect way to waste time. You can find it on the information superhighway.

Still is and always has been the granite ledges.

Nollie, because then it’ll wear down your other shoe instead of the front one that gets all the abuse.

Question 12 hand rails or manuals?
You can find a manual pad anywhere, theres so many factors to finding and skating a handrail. But they both have their virtues .
Question 13 which foot is bigger left or right? why is that? and does it have anything to do with your claw?
Right foot is a tad bigger, dunno why, just an assymetrical guy i guess. And yes it does have something to do with the claw, ‘cuz the claw is on the right too.

Indian Summer, warm days and brisk nights

I Just got a call from a friend of mine telling me some bad news. Local skateboarder Nick Castle died yesterday. I had only met Nick once or twice, he was a very talented dude. My condolences go out to his family and friends.
